I saw Hellboy II this weekend. The theatre was nice and quiet because everyone else was off seeing The Dark Night. Or perhaps it was because it was a late show on Sunday.
The first Hellboy movie was good, but the sequel was more-gooder! The movie was so fun and so captivating! The characters are enjoyable. They seem to be like ordinary people, even though they are so different. Hellboy is such a likeable "monster", (although young Hellboy was pretty darn creepy and scary looking!) and Abe is quirky and the 2 of them together was funny. There were quite a few LOL scenes. The story was interesting and fun, and deeper than the typical super-hero "getting the bad guy in the end" plot.
We were appalled when at the start of the movie, in walks a couple, pushing a stroller, and toting 2 children under the age of 5. Although the movie wasn't scary, there is enough darkness and violence to make it not appropriate for young children, especially ones that young. I bet these people took their kids to see Pan's Labyrinth too.

Hellboy 2 was fun... for sure that director has an amazing imagination, reminded me a lot of his work in Pan's Labyrinth
