It all started with a black cat
I found cat bottles, filled with wine – Moselland Riesling. Initially, I was going to get the black one, because the empty bottle would make a nice decoration in my bedroom. Then, I saw the pink bottle… how can a girl decided? Who says she has to… I took home both!

Scheduled Insurance Coverage
I think I need to schedule insurance coverage on my nail polish collection. I now have 89 different colours (not including the ones Amanda got me for Christmas, because I stuck those in a “safe place” that was even too safe for me to find). When I usually spend $10-15 on a bottle, it really adds up!
For the love of ManGlaze
It’s totally not my style to be posting an advertisement like this in order to win a contest, but I really want to try out this ManGlaze nail polish (check out the kick ass bottle!)… There is a product giveway on one of the nail polish blogs I follow, and I’m hoping to win it. Click the picture for more details.

New Favourite Blue
Blue has been my favourite colour to paint my nails lately. To be more precise, Sea? I Told You! by OPI has been my favourite. So much so that the bottle is nearly empty!
I went to buy another bottle, but I accidentally grabbed Teal the Cows Come Home. To the average eye it looks the same, but as soon as I got home and pulled the bottle out of the bag I knew I didn’t have the right one. Out I went in search of Sea? I Told You… Can’t find it.
Enter Absolutely Alice. I had read about the new colour online and thought that it might be nice, but I wasn’t crazy for all the sparkly flakes it in. Normally they annoy me to wear them. But I bought it anyway and it has become my new favourite!
It’s a nice sparkly mix of blue, black and gold. (inspired by Alice’s blue dress and golden locks.) I’m a silver girl, not a gold girl, but the gold blends in so well that all you see is sparkles! The picture doesn’t do it justice.
Here is a link to some better pictures of the colour. I also have Mad As a Hatter.

Don’t Touch My Lunch
I have new lunch containers. I hope they will deter others from touching my lunch in the office fridge and at home.
Wanting to leave with Herpes and Chlamydia
Yesterday, I was in the gift shop at the Telus World of Science, when I saw a tag in a basket of stuffies that said “Ebola”. I laughed at the silly name for a snake. Then I reached for a purple round one with eyelashes: “Kissing Disease”. The sunny yellow one was “Herpes”. The happy green one was “Chlamydia”. The mean black one was “Polio”.
The toys were GIANT Microbes! The tags show the microscopic view of the actual microbe. How ingenious!! I wanted to take them all home with me! These 4 are my favourites:
Kissing Disease | Herpes |
Chlamydia | Polio |
As I was at the display, a guy and girl walked over and were talking about them. He was showing her one that he picked up, and I took that opportunity to offer him “Herpres”, which he willingly took from me. hehehe! I gave a stranger herpes.
I want to be a science teacher now, and have these little Microbes all over the classroom! They have a website so you can order these cuties online GIANTMicrobes .
Bad Breath | Bookworm |
Common Cold | Ebola |
E.Coli | Egg Cell |
Fat Cell | Flesh Eating Disease (love the fork & knife!) |
Lyme Disease | Sperm Cell |

New Favourite Jeans
This past weekend I took at trip to the Lucky store and tried on practically every pair of jeans in that shop. I found only one pair that fit me, their Easy Rider jeans (pictured on the right).
Unfortunately, I left empty handed because they only had one pair of Easy Riders in my size and one leg was sewn shorter than the other! The jeans were only 32” to begin with so hemming them was out of the question and with heels on, the un-even leg length was so obvious even a man would notice it.
A stop at the GUESS store proved to be more productive. I tried on 2 pairs of jeans and went home with a pair of Alana Bootcut jeans! (pictured on the left)
I also totally love those shoes and want to track them down. I think they are the Cashy shoes (pictured below).

OMG! How did I miss this?
I visit the Town Shoes store on a regular basis, and I have seen their Barbie line of shoes (I want every pair!), but it was just today that I noticed the cut out for the toes is in the shape of a heart!

The Shopping Fish
Yesterday I was lonely while at the mall looking for shoes, so I bought a fish. My shopping fish. A nice yellow fish that made me smile.
We walked through the mall, tried on shoes, and bought shoes. I took my shopping fish home, put him in a nice bowl of water, with nice rocks, and fed him well.
This morning I woke up, said hello to my shopping fish and fed him again.
I went out, shopping with the boyfriend, and when I returned home, 4 hours later, I found my shopping fish dried, shriveled and dead on the floor.
It living with me really that terrible of a thing?

One of the coolest store on Whyte Ave
We were out on Whyte one weekend night and I had to stop to take pictures of the clothes in the window at Rowena. The pink skirt was the first thing to catch my eye. I want every outfit!

I want ONE red shoe
I was looking at the Grand & Toy website for a tape dispenser for ISG because ours is leaking sand all over the place. I found this one! A Scotch Shoe Tape Dispenser. I showed it to my boss and he was quick to run to his office and give me his tape dispenser. I think he was worried I would actually put it on the company order sheet.

Dance Dance
BF: Woman, are these new shoes?!
(obviously he saw my new shoes on the bathroom floor)
Me: (in a slightly higher than usual pitched voice) Maybe...
BF: I thought I forbid you to buy these shoes!?
Me: (confidently) Nope! You just told me you thought they were ugly!
Honestly, he didn't forbid me to buy them; he simply had commented that they were ugly.
I told everyone I was going to get these shoes, even if it killed me... see HERE.

My New Favourite FOX Sweater
My new sweater. These images don’t do it justice. I have to try taking some with my camera. It has logo buttons, stars on the pocket and roses on the side and sleeve. It’s so cozy! I fell in love with it the first moment I saw it. I wish I could wear it every day.

The price of pretty nails
Today I was painting my nails on my way to work with this awesome brown nail polish I have. The colour is called Brasil and it's made by Belavance. The price tag on it says $26.95. I bought it earlier this year on clearance for $14.99.
$15 for a bottle of nail polish? I mean, $27 is absurd, but even $15 is a lot to spend on nail polish, isn't it? Yet somehow, now this fools my brain into thinking that the $30 bottle of Chanel polish that I fell in love with online isn't really that much, seeing how I already have a $27 bottle in my possession.
$30 for nail polish?! That doesn't even include the nice oriental lady who trims your nails and lotions and massages your hands before applying the nail colour.
Price does make somewhat of a difference. I painted my nails in the car and the consistency of the polish, and the design of the brush is amazing. The colour didn't flow off my nail while painting. I purposely left a tiny edge of silver showing near the cuticle (I threw the brown overtop of the silver polish I had on already)
Sure, you can buy Wet 'n Wild and other cheap nail polishes for a couple of bucks, but they are not nice to apply, and they chip and peel off your nails. The more expensive polishes are longer wearing. Probably not that huge of an issue, since I usually re-paint my nails every 2-3 days. I upay $10-12 for a bottle of OPI, or $12 for M.A.C. My favourite M.A.C. shade is Nightfall.
Oh! despite my occasional OCD behaviour, I am currently of the belief that fingers and toes DO NOT have to match. It's more fun when you get to wear 2 colours!
ps - A portion of tonight's conversation
BF: What are you doing?
Me: I'm blogging about nail polish.
BF: Yay!
* it's the same "Yay!" I exclaim as I, the wonderful, dutiful girlfriend I am, listen intently as he begins to talk about WoW. hehe! This time I spared him the boring details and didn't elaborate on the topic, but it's nice to know that even if I had, he would can feign enthusiasm for my benefit.

Cinderella... or a wicked step-sister
