Tired and Wired

I didn't sleep a wink last night. Everytime I was on the brink of
falling asleep I would be violently jerked awake by the feeling that
my heart was stopping and I couldn't breathe. It went on all night.

I know it sounds crazy. I thought so myself the first time it
happened, one night last week. I thought I must have been drinking
caffeine too late in the day.

Today I tried to find a pattern from these two nights. I was talking
to Michy today and she solved it - new allergy pills! I have taken 4
pills over the past 3 weeks, and the other 2 times it was in the
morning. I had been having a few anxiety attacks but I just related it
to back to school stress and stuff.

20 hours later and my heart is still racing, although not as fast as
before. I feel like Jason Statham in Crank. Can't sit still or my
heart will burst. Physically, I am sooo tired but I feel so restless I
want to run but I'd probably have a heart attack or pass out.

(Side note -- Crank 2: High Voltage is scheduled to be released April
2009)

Oh the new allergy pill is called Aerius. The medical ingredient is
desloratadine, and you can bet your socks I will not touch the stuff
again! Although now that I'm coming down a bit, it's kinda groovy zone
to be in while placing race car games on the wii while listening to
the fast beats of Infected Mudhroom. ** kids, don't try this at home**

Easy Listening makes me want to puke

I have no idea what radio station the girls have playing in our area, but I swear, every day I hear the same songs.

Off the top of my head, I recall hearing daily -

"These Dreams" by Heart.... "In a wood full of princes, freedom is a kiss. But the prince hides his face from dreams in the mist." Sure, I loved theis power ballad at one point in time, but that was back in 1985!!

"Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles. Yay Canadian content! Another great song back in the day (1989), but really! to hear it everysingle day in 2008 is not acceptible!

oh! Now they're playing a good song - "Drops of Jupiter" by Train. Whatever happened to Train?

Scott picks out the best presents

I was a little sad one day because my brother was leaving again and stuff.

Scott asked what he could do to cheer me up.

Nothing, I said.

He asked, how about I get you a present?  Who can't be cheered up with a present?

OK!!  I exclaimed, instantly feeling better at the suggestion of a surprise, but not really expecting to get one.

Gimme a few days and I'll come up with something good, he said.

OMG!  Did he ever come up with something good.  A new phone with a fantastic pink case. *dreamy sigh*  one more pink gadget for my collection!

Zombie fighting ninja

I can't sleep.  I had a horrifying dream and it's keeping me awake.  It was the most disturbing dram I had in a long time.

It was black out and I was walking to my car when I saw people smash my window.  They saw me fleeing and chased me, unloading a full clip in my direction as I tried to run into the house.  There were people I knew inside (although IRL, I have no idea who these people are) who went outside to chase the bad guys.  I heard more gunshots and one of the bad guys got into the house.  I was hiding in the kitchen with knives in my hands.  I stabbing him as he was coming around the corer.  He didn't bleed.  It didn't show him down.  I kept cutting into him as he handcuffed my left hand to a chair.  I stabbed him over and over, dragging the knife through his flesh, but he still was not bleeding.

I told Scott about my scary dream.  He said it wasn't scary, it was an awesome dream - that I was a ninja fighting off zombies.  Now I can't stop thinking about his Dead Rising video game where you're a photojournalist who is fighting off zombies in the mall, clubbing them, hacking away and cutting them up with a chainsaw and lawn mower. Ah, no wonder he thought my dream was so freaking awesome.

No Office Visit for Me!

first day of grade 4 Taking Miranda to school went smoothly.  This year was the first problem-free (and stress-free) first day of school.  I don't know if it's a bad thing that it took 5 years to get it that way, or if I'm lucky that it only took 5 years!

Back To School

Today is the first day back to school for Miranda.  Here's hoping for a (relatively) stress-free morning!  I called the school last week to confirm that Miranda would be in a nut-friendly classroom, and she is.  Hopefully everything will go smoothly and I won't have to be one of the problem parents in the office. hehe

The Alchemy of Desire

book I picked up a new book the other day... The Alchemy of Desire by Tarun J Tejpal.  The first sentence reads,

Love is not the greatest glue between two people. Sex is.

oooh sounds like it's gonna be interesting!

I have  not read about the book, but I read a review that says the novel contains extremely strong female characters. "Fiza, Bibi Lahori and Catherine are the kind of characters you would want to meet in real life. The kind of women you could promptly fall passionately in love with."

Synopsis on the back of the book -

A young couple from a small town in India, penniless but gloriously in love, move to the big city, where the man works feverishly on a novel, stopping only to feed his ceaseless desire for his beautiful wife.  In time the lovers abandon the city for an old house in the mist-shrouded Himalayas.  While renovating their ramshackle new home, the young man unearths a chest full of old diaries written by the previous owner.  Thrust into another world and time, he slowly uncovers the dark secrets at the heart of her story...

Trapped!

I talked to Miranda an hour ago.  She was at Papa's house and told me to come pick her up.  I told her I had to have a shower first.  Well, I get to my daddy's house and the door is locked, so I unlock the door.  Then I hear a BEEEEEEEPPPPPPPP BEEEEEEEEPPPP BEEEEEEPPPPPP and then the alarm sets off.  FUCK!  hey have a new alarm system and I think the code is either the old code or one other code, but I didn't know which button to press after entering the code.

It's now a monitored system so the alarm stops and the alarm company comes on over the PA, asking for a name and password.  Ummm, FUCK!  I tell them my name & dad's name but don't have a password so they hang up on me.  Then the alarm starts again.  I call my stepmum's cell - no answer.  I call my dad's phone and there's a ringing in the kitchen - he's phone is on the counter.  FUCK!  The alarm is still armed so I can't leave the house without setting off the alarm again.  Then my cell phone rings.  It's the alarm company!  They couldn't contact anyone else on the list.  duh!  I tried already so I knew that.

The only good thing about this situation, is my dad hasn't set up a permit to have the police dispatched, so we won't get billed for a false alarm.

Anyway, so if I open the door the alarm will go off so I'm sitting here waiting for someone to come home and let me out.

*gasp* someone discovered that buying flowers for a lady really won't kill you!
It's a very big bouquet, so I took a picture from the top so all the flowers can be seen.

Mini Me

I have created my own Mini Me! - we were both dressed in robin-egg blue clothes, and she got a haircut like mine, only a little shorter!

I took my little princess to see my wonderful stylist, Allen at Mango, and he chopped off her hair! (at my request)  When he made the first cut, I was ready to cry, thinking that I was being too rash at saying "cut it to shoulder length".  I was almost ready to cry! It looked so short!  I think I was just over reacting to the shock of the dramatic change.

Miranda loves her new hairstyle, and it looks super cute on her, so light and bouncy!
