Ten weeks ago I started running in a 5km clinic and last night I finished, running 6km, in the dark and on snow and ice, in 38 minutes. Oh did I mention it was my first sub-zero run, a chilly -7C. I could have been faster, but we were running in a group and I couldn't extacly run off ahead. (With walking it was a 43 minutes and 6.3km trip.)
What I have learned about myself - I thought I was a woman who would be content to finish with the top 1/3 of the group, but discovered that I want to be finishing in the #1 spot.
