As a sweet gesture, someone gifted me a magazine (the November issue of Scientific American) but I didn't have the heart to say that I purchased the same issue a few days before! My copy (and the December issue of Psychology Today)got wet in my bag on Thursday, when the entire contents of a bottle of water emptied in my bag on my way to work. :(Alas, the truth has a way of coming out and my soggy copy was discovered by the gift giver, and now the they are left with the challenge of finding a gift that I haven't purchased myself. The extra magazine was kept by the gift giver, who conincidentally also has an interest in science, and would willingly read it.
