I beat MY high score that beat Scott's high score on Welcome to the Jungle...
... that is if he hasn't already beaten his high score.
I saw Hellboy II this weekend. The theatre was nice and quiet because everyone else was off seeing The Dark Night. Or perhaps it was because it was a late show on Sunday.
The first Hellboy movie was good, but the sequel was more-gooder! The movie was so fun and so captivating! The characters are enjoyable. They seem to be like ordinary people, even though they are so different. Hellboy is such a likeable "monster", (although young Hellboy was pretty darn creepy and scary looking!) and Abe is quirky and the 2 of them together was funny. There were quite a few LOL scenes. The story was interesting and fun, and deeper than the typical super-hero "getting the bad guy in the end" plot.
We were appalled when at the start of the movie, in walks a couple, pushing a stroller, and toting 2 children under the age of 5. Although the movie wasn't scary, there is enough darkness and violence to make it not appropriate for young children, especially ones that young. I bet these people took their kids to see Pan's Labyrinth too.
Guitar Hero is totally my new addiction! I have had the game for 6 nights now and I started on Easy and found the songs to be too slow so once I could pass Through the Fire and the Flames I moved up to Medium.
On Sunday morning I told the BF I was playing on Medium and he didn't believe it. He really didn't believe me when I said I had finished all of the regular set list except for 3 songs.
"Even One?" He asked.
"Yes, I even finished One!!" I exclaimed.
"Even that Slayer song?"
"Yes! Even the Slayer song!"
"Even Cliffs of Dover?"
"Yes! I finished that one last night, I was so excited! The only ones I can't get are Cult of Personality, Knights of Cydonia (which sucked because I could rock it on Easy at the first try), and Missisippi Queen!"
(and yes, every sentence regarding GH that comes out of my mouth is an exclamation)
To prove to him that I was totally getting good at it, I went home and finished those 3 as well. Now, by "finish a song" I mean I not only completed the song, but I scored high enough to enter my name on the score chart. It doesn't mean anything if it's not documented. hehe
Tonight I played through the remaining Bonus songs that I hadn't gotten to yet. Now I have completed every song on Medium except Through the Fire and the Flames. I can't get further than 17% trough it. grrr! I tried to advance to High, but I'm still a long ways away from being able to play 5 buttons with 4 fingers. Oh and I tried playing on Career mode, but I can't get past Tom Morello.
My next challenge is to beat his score of 117K on Welcome to the Jungle. He says it must be easier on the Wii than it is on his xBox, because my 83K score seems too high in his opinion for a noob.
My happy evening: home... Guitar Hero... shopping with my 2 favourite peeps, more Guitar Hero, quick bite to eat at 9:30 while watching Entourage, more Guitar Hero... like almost 4 straight hours of it. I was having so much fun, I didn't want to stop, but I do have to work in the morning. At least it's Friday so I can stay up all night tomorrow if I want! :)
Miranda told us this joke the other day, and it made us laugh!
A lady was mowing the grass when she accidentally ran over her cat's tail with the lawn mower. She put the cat and its tail in her car and hurried to Wal-Mart.
Wal-Mart? Why Wal-Mart?
... because everyone knows it's the largest retailer around!
Miranda went for a field trip to the Ukrainian Cultural Village and it was the most amazing time for her.
I just went to check in on her sleeping and she had put on an old lullaby cd and this song I had all but forgotten about was playing - All the Pretty Little Ponies. It was one of the lullabies I used to sing to her when she was little. Maybe she became so horse crazed because Mummy was always singing about horses!Kenny Loggins version: Catherine Raney version:
from PostSecret.com ... I think this is a great thought to be coming from a 17-year old. I wish I could go back to being that optimistic about the future. I fear that my lines will form from stress and disappointment, not from happiness and excitement. Only I can change that, right? I'm trying.
Who am I kidding? I don't want to have lines at all! I'm so vain...
Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban just had a baby girl. They named her Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban.
Was she born yesterday and they got confused when filling out the birth certificate, entering the day of the week before "Rose"? It turns out, Sunday was born on Monday.
Some other wacky celebrity baby names:
Shannon Sossamon - Audio Science (it's a boy)
Michael Hutchence of INXS- Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily (it's a girl)
Nicholas Cage - Kal-El (it's a boy, nick name, Superman? hehe)
Gwyneth Paltrow / Chris Martin - Apple (it's a girl) (Moses totally should have been named "Orange" hehe)
Lance Henricksen - Alchemy (it's a girl)
Milla Jovovich - Ever Gabo (it's a girl)
Barbara Hershey - Free (it's a boy)
Courtney Cox - Coco Riley (it's a girl, who will probably be called Coco-loco on the playground hehe)
And we can't forget Frank Zappa's contributions
Someone is going to be getting Guitar Hero for her Wii as a belated birthday present. That someone is ME!!! I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait !!!!
I am going to be soooo totally addicted, as in Angel's not going to get any sleep because she'll be rocking out all the time!! (besides, I have some catching up to do so I can compete with the boy)
And of course, I'll have to find a pink guitar skin... *happy sigh*
I need help with my Internet addiction. It's getting out of control. I spend all day working at a computer, and then I come home and spend practically just as much time in front of the computer.
Today I was going to create icons for some new apps I put on my iPod touch. I did everything but that! I customized my Twitter page, read up on some stuff, then made some changes to my blog. The most complex was adding the Comments area to individual posts. You have to click on the time link in a post if you are looking at the main page... I haven't figured out how to add it so comments can be access from posts on the main page.
I have been quite neurotic the past while... well, probably close to as far back as most people can remember (it's part of my charm?)... and I freak out at the thought of being in large crowds, but these days I'm chillin' and rolling with it.
This year's trip to watch the Canada Day fireworks had the potential of being disastrous, but I didn't panic and things couldn't have worked out better! yay!!
